I had the honour of attending the International Conference on Religion, Culture and Ecology at the Presbyterian University of East Africa (PUEA). Pictured here are Prof. Wangari Mwai, PhD, EMBA, OGW, Vice Chancellor of PUEA; Dr. John Wakhanu, Deputy Vice Chancellor; Dr. John Calvin, CEO of Talent Plus; Madam Grace Mungai; and an energetic delegation from Friends of Ondiri, led by Steve Ndichu, Climate Worx Supervisor, and Mr. Robert Meya, Nature-Based Solutions Coordinator, among other able and distinguished attendees.
The conference theme, “The Future of the Sacred Earth: Responses to Environmental Issues,” inspired a series of insightful presentations from eminent scholars and practitioners, including Dr. John Calvin (PUEA), Prof. Wangari Mwai (VC, PUEA), Dr. Manase Ogola (Africa College of Theology, Kigali), Mr. Cusper Omollo (Maseno University) and Mr. Emmanuel Kilatu (University of Dodoma, Tanzania). Exceptional rapporteuring was provided by Rev. Daniel Emoru and Ms. Gladys Mwihaki.
My special appreciation goes to Ms. Charity Wambugu, Marketing Executive at PUEA, for her exemplary organisation, and to the entire PUEA community for ensuring the event’s outstanding success.
I was deeply honoured to deliver the keynote address on safeguarding the future of Kikuyu Sub-County by sustaining its sacred ecological balance.
