St. Hannah’s Girls’ High School Environmental Club Tours Ondiri Wetland

Today, we were honoured to host the Environmental Club members from St. Hannah’s Girls’ High School at the beautiful Ondiri Wetland for an exciting and impactful environmental learning experience. The students had an amazing time exploring Kenya’s only quaking bog and what many visitors proudly call “the biggest natural trampoline in Kenya” during our famous Peat Bog Tour. The excitement, laughter, curiosity and love for nature made the day truly memorable. The learners also enjoyed: ○ A guided educational tour of the wetland ecosystem ○ A tree planting and conservation learning session ○ Citizen Science activities and biodiversity observation ○ A visit to our growing Botanic Garden ○ Bird and nature appreciation sessions ○ Environmental education discussions focused on conservation and climate action ○ Tree growing activity At Friends of Ondiri Wetland Kenya, we strongly believe that young people are the future custodians of our environment. Through Environmental Clubs and our Citizen Science Docket, students get an opportunity to participate directly in conservation, research, biodiversity monitoring and practical climate action.
