Report on Young Environmentalist Club Visit to Kaito School

On 4th June, the Ondiri Young Environmentalist Club department visited Kaito School for a day of fun, learning, and action with the students.

We planted 5 fruit and indigenous trees together — passion fruit, loquat, Macadamia lutea, and Croton megalocarpus. The students were excited and took ownership right away by organizing themselves into teams to water and care for each tree. That sense of responsibility was beautiful to see.

We also held an interactive environmental talk. The focus was simple: conservation starts with us, from keeping our school compound clean to caring for the environment at home. To make it engaging, we mixed in team building games. The goal was to show the kids that protecting the environment isn’t boring — it’s a fun and noble duty for everyone.

The learners were very responsive. They asked questions, shared ideas, and the session felt more like a conversation than a lesson.

Kaito School has been a great partner. They joined us during the 2026 Conservation Run and the Business Expo, and they’re eager for more. In fact, they’ve promised to organize an eco-tourism tour to Ondiri Wetland. We’ll guide the young learners through the wetland so they can experience real conservation on the ground and see our work firsthand.
