Friends of Ondiri Wetland Visit Nyumbani Children’s Home Karen

Today, Friends of Ondiri Wetland spent the better part of the day at Nyumbani Children’s Home, Karen (also known as COGRI – Children of God Relief Institute), where we engaged in meaningful environmental and recreational activities with the children.

Our main activity was a fruit tree growing exercise, and we are proud to say that we left behind what will one day become a thriving future orchard. This is part of our continued commitment to promoting environmental conservation and sustainability among the younger generation.

The day was also filled with fun and laughter through games and sports activities, including football matches between our team and the home team. Congratulations to the Nyumbani teams, who emerged victorious in both the girls’ and boys’ matches, clearly, we have some training to do!

Beyond the activities, we also held fruitful discussions on potential areas of partnership, particularly in environmental stewardship, tree growing, and community engagement initiatives. We believe such collaborations will go a long way in nurturing responsible environmental champions for the future.
